マタイの福音書17:1-13 Matthew 17:1-13
1 六日後、イエスは、ペテロとヤコブと、彼の兄弟ヨハネを連れて、人里離れた高い山の頂上に登られました。
1 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
2 すると、三人の目の前で、たちまちイエスの姿が変わりました。顔は太陽のように輝き、着物はまばゆいほど白くなりました。
2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.
3 そこへ突然、モーセとエリヤが現れて、イエスと親しく話し始めたではありませんか。
3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
4 これを見て、ペテロは思わず口走りました。「ああ、先生。なんとありがたいことでしょう。こんなすばらしいところに居合わせるなんて！ もし、よろしければ、幕屋（神がイスラエルの民と会う聖所）を三つお建てしましょう。あなたと、モーセとエリヤのために。」
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 ところが、そう言っているうちにも、光り輝く雲が現れて、三人をすっぽり包んでしまいました。そして雲の中から、「これこそ、わたしの愛する子。わたしはこれを心から喜んでいる。彼の言うことを聞きなさい」という声がしました。
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
6 この声を聞いた弟子たちは、恐ろしさのあまりわなわなと震え、ひれ伏しました。
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.
7 イエスは近寄り、彼らにさわって言われました。「さあ、起きなさい。こわがることはありません。」
7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”
8 それで、彼らがようやく顔を上げると、そこにはもう、イエスのほかにはだれもいませんでした。
8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9 山を降りながら、イエスは、いま見たことを、ご自分が復活するまではだれにも話してはいけないとお命じになりました。
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”
10 そこで、弟子たちが尋ねました。「どうしてユダヤ人の指導者たちは、メシヤが来る前に、エリヤが必ず戻って来ると主張しているのでしょうか。」
10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
11 「彼らの言うとおりです。まずエリヤが来て、すべての準備をするのです。
11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.
12 実際、エリヤはもう来たのです。しかし人々は彼を認めず、ひどい目に会わせました。そればかりか、メシヤのわたしもまた、彼らの手で苦しめられるのです。」
12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”
13 その時、弟子たちは、イエスがバプテスマのヨハネのことを言っておられるのだと気づきました。
13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.
◎チャレンジ「お話」なのか「実際のできごと」なのか
・３人の弟子に事前に見せたイエスの意図は？→ご自分がメシヤであることをわからせる→しかしこの時点では３人ともまだピンと来てない→エリヤ＝Bヨハネであることの示唆：イエスが復活された後の動きに関わる
・私にとってこの出来事とは→イエスが神であること、神の子であることを認識する出来事→病を癒す不思議な霊媒師ではない→事実と受け取る
◎イエスはメシヤ＝救い主である
・信仰の土台→聖書の意味は全て開示されていること→イエスが復活されたことも、その後のペテロの動きも知っている→これで信じなければ何を持っても信じれない→だから聖書を読まなければならない
【適用】
「さあ、起きなさい。こわがることはありません。」
・この「実際のできごと」は私に関することと言う受け取り
・さあ、起きなさい→思い切ってやりなさい：とあること→こわがらなくていい
・今、この最中にも働いてくださる主を信じる、こわがることではない
