マタイの福音書15:1-20 Matthew 15:1-20
1 パリサイ人やユダヤ人の指導者たちが、イエスに会いに、エルサレムからやって来ました。
1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
2 彼らはイエスに、「どうしてあなたの弟子たちは、先祖の言い伝えを守らないのか。食事の前に手を洗わないのはどうしてか」と迫りました。
2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”
3 そこで、イエスは言われました。「それならお聞きします。あなたがたも自分たちの言い伝えのために、神の戒めを破っています。それはどういうわけですか。
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 たとえば、律法には、『あなたの父と母とを敬え。だれでも父や母をののしる者は死刑に処せられる』とあります。
4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a] and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b]
5-6 ところが、どうでしょう。あなたがたは、両親が困っていようと何だろうと、『このお金は神にささげました』と言いさえすれば、もう両親のためにそのお金を使わなくてもよいと教えています。つまり、人間の作った規則を盾にとって、両親を敬い、そのめんどうをみなさいという神の戒めを破っているのです。
5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’
6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
7 まさに偽善者です。イザヤが預言したとおりです。
7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 『彼らは口先ではわたしを敬うが、
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
心はわたしから遠く離れている。
but their hearts are far from me.
9 彼らがわたしを拝んでも、むだなことだ。
9 They worship me in vain;
神のおきての代わりに、人間の規則を教えているのだから。』（イザヤ29・13）」
their teachings are merely human rules.’[c]”
10 それからイエスは、群衆を呼び寄せて言われました。「いいですか、よく聞きなさい。
10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.
11 禁じられている物を食べたからといって、それで汚れるわけではありません。人を汚すのは、口から出ることばであり、心の思いなのです。」
11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
12 その時、弟子たちが来て言いました。「先生があんなことをおっしゃったので、パリサイ人たちはかんかんに怒っています。」
12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 しかし、イエスは言われました。「わたしの父がお植えにならなかった木は、みな根こそぎ抜かれてしまいます。
13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.
14 だから、あの人たちのことは放っておきなさい。彼らは盲目なのです。おまけに、ほかの盲人の手引きまでして、結局、二人とも溝に落ちてしまうでしょう。」
14 Leave them; they are blind guides.[d] If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
15 すると、ペテロが尋ねました。「きよくないとされている物を食べても汚れない、と先生がおっしゃるのは、どうしてですか。」
15 Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”
16 イエスは言われました。「そんなことがわからないのですか。
16 “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.
17 口から入る物は何でも腹に入って、外へ出てしまいます。
17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?
18 ところが、悪いことばは悪い心から出てくるので、人を汚すのです。
18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
19 つまり、悪い考え、殺人、姦淫、不品行、盗み、うそ、また悪口などは、心から出て、
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
20 人を汚すのです。しかし、食事の前に手を洗うという規則を破ったからといって汚れるわけではありません。」
20 These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.
言わば「聖書的な合理主義」
問題となるのは「汚れる」こと→罪
●人の心から出ていくもの※すべての人は罪を犯したので・・・に通じる
律法学者の指摘
「なぜ食事前に手を洗わないのか」
ルールを破っていることを指摘するため
●自分たちの権威を守るための道具
●人から出ていく汚れ、罪の元を検証
自分から出ているものとして、心当たりがある
今日の適用：その一つを取り除く
祈りが必要
外から取り込んでいるものもある
そこから出ているものがあるのではないか
