I am not sure why it has been the problem about the racism for the event upcoming this month....
The most famous gallery in winterpeg are having big "japanese" party it maybe postponed or cancelled.. I do not know the situation right now but at least I was called for the meeting today.
When StarWars movie came up, it makes us happy that their costumes is inspired by Japanese culture..Actually not many of us reallly cared.
I am pretty sure lots of people think "geisha"outlook is kinda funny.
We even have some comedians who sometimes wear and make up like "geisha"
and makes comedy show on TV... I do not feel insulted by different people are trying to be like japanese outlook even if it is quite funny.
I do not think that they have strong intention to laugh at it. don't they?
coz if I hated something, I just do not see it. I just ignore it.
it is not the event for laughing at asian.
I could be the one who is the racist.
I have problems to understand of culture and people from different countries in Asia.
I do not know the difference of countries in Africa.
I have so many things I do not know about the world.
and I sometimes get really scared when I talk with people who is different.
I am sure it will be big problems if this is the party named "Jewish party" but organized by non-jews
or the party named "Muslim party" but organized by non-muslim.
I am not sure why but for me "japanese party" by non-Japanese is ok.
coz they do not know the country but still trying to enjoy it.
we have Italian restaurants in Japan but more Japanese tasted Italian..

but Japan had recently TV commercial of one of the biggest airline in Japan. and one comedian put big disguise nose on his real nose
and put blond wigs on his head like westan people. and it became big problem. I believe that this commercial intended to let people say that
that is so nonsense!! but lots of westan people got angry. It is nonsense commercial. that is what commercial was telling.
but people got angry by saying nonsense!!
so the word of "yellowface" is also meant to be meaningless from the beggining... but some people really angry with it.
My English is not good enough to feel it.
or I have "no opinion" person.
or I am likely to escape from the conflict.
I just do not want to be upset which could be just fun.
and I am not asian-canadian. I am still just a visitor.
I do not struggle with these conflict coz I do not really live here.
I am still learning English from them.
