Toshiba has issued a software update for the Toshiba Thrive. The update fixes the issue with the tablet in which it went to sleep for no apparent reason and then would not wake up without a reboot. It was hard for the Toshiba Thrive to thrive when it was napping all the time.
The updat of version 1.5.0029 improves sleep-and-resume performance and adds additional codec support to enhance the multimedia playback capabilities. The update also:
Improves stability and performance when coming out of sleep mode.
Adds support for additional multimedia codecs (AVI, DivX with mp3 audio, Xvid)
Adds display controller enhancements.
You can update the Toshiba Thrive software from a notification or from Android:
Tap on the update message which will be sent by the Toshiba Service Station application, or…
Tap on the ‘Apps’ icon in the upper right corner of the Android Home screen, then locate & tap on the ‘Service Station’ icon. After launching ‘Service Station’, tap ‘Check for Updates’ and follow the displayed instructions.
Toshiba recommends that you power off your tablet once the installation has completed, by holding down the power button for approximately 10 seconds. Depending on your log in status at the time, you may be see a prompt asking if you wish to power off your system, either select OK to shutdown, or continue to hold down the power button until the tablet vibrates and powers off.
