another convertible tablet

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Hp laptop battery

Gigabyte may not have been a player in the slate tablet arena (where it offers the S1080 Atom powered tablet), but they’ve tried hard with their line of convertible tablets (also called netvertibles). The successor to the T1125N is called Gigabyte T1132N, and this uses the second generation Intel Core CPUs, also from the low voltage category, just like the MacBook Air.

But similarities end here, with the Gigabyte T1132N being heavier and thicker than the Apple laptop with battery such as Hp HSTNN-C17C battery , Hp NBP6A48A1 battery , Hp EX940AA battery , Hp HSTNN-0B46 battery , Hp HSTNN-XB32 battery , Hp HSTNN-Q21C battery , Hp G6060EG battery , Hp G7000 battery , Hp Pavilion dv2100 battery , Hp Pavilion dv2200 battery , Hp Pavilion dv2300 battery , Hp Pavilion dv2500 battery : 1,76 kg and 40 mm. The form factor is 11.6 inches, which means a HD ready screen (1366 x 768 px), and the Intel Core i5-2467M Processor (1.6GHz-2.3GHz), all in a case capable of fitting a regular 2.5 inch hard disk drive, but not from SSD, so you’re stuck with a (very) slow 5400 RPM disk. This should be Achilles heel for the T1132N convertible tablet.

I don’t understand why manufacturers don’t switch to SSD’s and still use the antiquated 5400 RPM drives. A 7200 RPM drive should be the minimum acceptable this year. And the problems with floods in Thailand which affected HDD prices should steer people more towards SSDs. Sure you can upgrade it yourself on the T1132N, but why not get the benefits out of the box.

The OS is Windows 7, as expected, and you have to choose between Professional and Home Premium. Optional you can get a docking station where the tablet sits vertically in parallel with a optical drive. This adds also a few USB ports and duplicates some of the existing ones. Here’s a list with the complete specs.

We don’t know anything yet about pricing and availability, but I hope Gigabyte doesn’t make the same mistake again and prices this way under $1000, but IT companies are known for not learning from their mistakes.
