It's an expression , way of hoping that everything will work out fine.
A gesture of "Crossing your fingers" , middle finger is on top of the index finger is an expression to say Good luck at the same time while doing the gesture , you express your feeling that you are praying for someone.
It's also a way of saying you have my support and let's hope for the best.
これはこれから何かを達成したいことや希望することが起こってもらいたいと相手に伝えた後、中指を人差し指の上に重ねながら"Cross your fingers"と言えば「（あなたも）幸運を祈ってね」と言うフィーリングを出しているときのジェスチャーをやりながら同時にいう表現なんですね。 くだけた表現としても使われており「応援してくれよ」というフィーリングを伝えるときにも使います。
