Today Is Christmas Day. Traditionally It Is Always A Happy Day, But This Year It Is Tinged With Sadness. Tomorrow Is The 26 Th Of December (And In Japan It Already Is) And This Could Very Well Be The Last Time To See Smap Perform Together as a group on SMAPxSMAP before they officially disband in less than a week.
For the past 4 months, Smap fans have tried their best to get this word out about how this disbanding may be less than voluntary and have found many many creative ways to show their support, love, and appreciation for the group.
Fans, and their concerns, have largely been dismissed.
"Well, the agency says the members are not getting along, so this must be true ..."
"It's just denial. Fans are not willing to accept the inevitable ...."
"Who cares - there are many more important issues to be concerned with ..."
The media has not been either the or the power to reveal the truth, or to even look beyond the official statements to the motivations of the source of these statements.
I follow global and international issues as well and they are very important to me, but it is much easier for me to engage in some direct action in these regards.
If we can not discover the truth over this matter of the disbanding of Smap, what hope to we have to discover the truth when it comes to broader issues of human rights, global ecology, international relations, etc.?
What sells gets printed or no no matter how sensational or inaccurate or politically motivated or 'We've supposedly entered an era of' post-truth '. Spun 'it might be be. It makes me despair a bit.
I hope that someday I 'll see the group again together, free from the shackles of what I can only see a beet petty, Controlling, corrupt agency.
I wish every success to Katori Shingo, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, Inagaki Goro, Kimura Takuya, and Nakai Masahiro on their future paths, and hope that they are able some how and some day to come together again.. Thank you for all the joy you've I hope you can be free now to follow your dreams, and to live without to your desires, without the overarching control of J & A. I hope that following the group contracts with J & A, you can I know for sure I will not be alone in doing so.
