The forecast indicated it was going to rain.  A cloudy day began.

 

Great panorama were expected here if it had been fine.

 

Several construction plants were seen in this part of the route, possibly for the Linear Shinkansen tunnel.

In this area the old Nakasendo is indicated by this special pavement with bright stones embedded.

Benizaka mile mounds(紅坂一里塚).

 

 

 

Botan iwa(ぼたん岩) onion crack of granite. The guide board wrote that they were stone flowers stepped by the most population ever in Japan.

 

Walking down to the Fukagaya rest spot(深萱立場).

 

Sakura-Sogoro shrine(佐倉宗五郎大明神). Sogoro is a historical hero from Chiba Prefecture. Wonder why it is here. Anyway pleased to pray for peace.

中山道2日目。馬籠から大井宿の先まで。

Walking began from the upper end of Magome post town, nearly at dawn.

Only few people appeared in this early morning, contrary to daytime of the tourist.

Passed by a guest house with a pleasant. I would like to visit it with my family one day.

This temple was so impressive that reserved for visiting again. Ioji Yakushi(医王寺薬師) temple means the King of Medical Doctor.

Yotsumegawa river(四ッ目川) runs parallel to Nakatsugawa river.

 

Its line moved four times as recorded due to flood flash.

Walking continued to the Oi post town(大井宿).

 

Hills and carved rivers appeared in sequence on the alluvial fan landscape.

今年の連休も中山道へ

Nakasendo walking has been my yearly event.

Departed home at 5:30 and stood on the Junikane platform at 10:30.

 

Welcome by local garden flowers.

 

Kakizore gorge of Kiso river(柿其峡谷).

 

Wisteria in bloom here and there tells the season.

 

Various tones of greens as if each chatting early in summer.

 

Earth, winds and water flows, making this color of Kiso river.

 

Old route split from the present vehicle road.

 

Old stone monuments and statues aside the road are attraction for walkers.

 

This time carried the backpack for a simulation of the long travel I am planning for my 60 year old memorial.

 

Cute flowers and plants aside are also attractive.

三留野宿には営林所の三殿土場という木材集積所があるのだった。

南木曽駅のすぐ近く、奥に桃介橋が見える。

 

Beautiful timber logs are shipped from here by train in the past, now by road.

 

Saw some carp streamers, but it seems like decreasing the number recently.

 

Entered Tsumago post town tourist area(妻籠宿).
