今年三回目の中山道は観光中心で。ちなみに一回目は長距離踏破、二回目は空木岳登山でした。

This time, visited a major tourist spot.

Took an express train from Nagano. Window view was beautiful.

Got off the express at Kiso-Fukushima and transferred to an ordinary.

Passed by Kuramoto station, visited last time for climbing.

Arrived at Nojiri station to resume walking Old Nakasendo.

Enjoyed a lunch box bought at Nagano in the waiting room before walking.

Nojiri post town, walking began from here.

While walking, looked up the impressive shape of Mt. Meshimori-yama(飯盛山) on the right.

Attractions aside the road.

Saw a deep water of Yomikaki dam(読書ダム) right foot of the road.

Stone statue of Edo era.

Took a rest at Junikane station(十二兼駅). Express trains pass every hour while ordinary once per two hours.

Walking continued to Kakizore valley(柿其渓谷), today's destination.

Crossed a deep gorge of Kiso river(木曽川) by Kakizore-bashi bridge.

Old water bridge for hydraulic power generation.

Incredibly hot for the end of summer.

Approached Kakizore district, a hidden highland area.

Checked in a guesthouse with a hot spring bath. The dinner was very good.

The next morning, enjoyed a walk along a valley trail.

Should have come here yesterday for swimming under hot sunshine.

Walked back to Junikane station to take a train to Nagiso(南木曽).

From Nagiso, took a bus to Tsumago post town(妻籠宿).

Weather was rainy but enjoyed seeing a museum of history of Tsumago post town.

Splendid building of old Waki-Honjin is preserved.

Historical museum of Kiso area.

Guidebooks for tourists in Edo era. Interesting for me as an old route walker.

Five kinds of important wood production in Edo era.

After lunch at Tsumago, moved to Magome(馬籠宿) by bus.

Sweets time at an air-cond cafe.

Bought a souvenir at Magome post town. It was made from real chestnuts and very delicious.
