A woman fell and died Sunday on a suspension bridge in West Palm Beach, Fla., as she was riding her bicycle across it.
The woman, who has not been identified, crossed the Park Royal Bridge, which extends from Lakeview Drive in West Palm Beach to Palm Beach Island, at about 1 p.m., West Palm Beach police said.
She was about 10 feet from the end of the bridge when it was raised, and she fell through a gap in the road, according to NBC affiliate WPTV in Palm Beach, Fla. "The woman was trying to hang on," West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jaccules told the outlet.
