George Floyd's 4-year-old niece, Arianna, was shot to death in her bed Saturday after a gunman opened fire inside her home as she slept.
The girl was shot in the torso and was in stable condition after emergency surgery, police said. The bullet punctured her lung and liver and fractured three ribs, ABC 13 Houston said. Her family identified her as Freud's niece.
Arianna was one of four adults and two children who were bombarded with bullets in their Houston apartment around 3 a.m.
Police said in a statement that they did not know if one or more people opened fire. Police have no suspects and no possible motive. Arianna was asleep in her bed when she was shot. Her family often took her to parades and rallies for her late uncle who was 4 years old Arianna. In the case of Uncle George Floyd, she led the parade and rally.
At around 3am on Saturday, her father told me she was asleep in bed when several shots were fired into their apartment. Arianna was hit in the torso.
