A 29-year-old man, Peter Bernardo Spencer of Pittsburgh, was shot multiple times in his Rockland Township home. “After consultation with the Venango County District Attorney, four people who were present at the time of the shooting were questioned and released,” police said in a statement.
Officials also urged patience as investigators await ballistics data, toxicology and laboratory test results.
Venango County District Attorney Shaun White said Tuesday that while he acknowledged the family’s request for information, his office must conduct a thorough investigation.
The reports are expected to be completed and submitted in four to six weeks, he said. “Upon receipt of these reports, the district attorney will review all available information before making a fee decision,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
Spencer’s loved ones, including his brother Tehilah and his fiancee Carmela King, have expressed dismay.
“He was the only black person at the camp and was portrayed as the aggressor,” King wrote on the GoFundMe account. Tehilah Spencer said his brother was “murdered in cold blood!” During a hate crime in “Modern Lynching” on another GoFundMe account.
