Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of former President Donald Trump, was one of his top advisers.
Washington -- The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riots demanded the cooperation of Ivanka Trump on Thursday as it revealed what it had learned about a White House effort to get President Donald J. Trump to condemn and stop a mob that had besieged the Capitol that day.
In a letter to Ms. Trump, the former president's eldest daughter and a senior adviser to Mr. Trump, the committee said it had obtained evidence that several White House officials -- including Ms. Trump, on at least two occasions -- had pleaded with Mr. Trump to stop the violence but had been rebuffed. But aides at the time also worried that Trump was not issuing a scripted statement amid the turmoil.
