Recently, I went through my Restor-Version VW beater junk yard and
cleaned out all what I had laying around, collected from over many years.
Spent some time figuring out which ones had potential to go through
the Restor-Version Shop and ended up with 37 cars. Then I had to take
completely apart all of those VW junk yard toys, collect, sort and put
aside all the parts to keep track of. Then on the tin bodies and chassis,
using my old school methods, I took out all of the dents, straightened
out all the bends and so forth. I learned doing this before sandblasting
is better as when the parts come back, they are paint ready! I then took
all the metal parts to the sandblaster, a total of 90 metal parts in all !!!
Just got back all of the metal parts from the sandblaster. It is so nice
starting the projects with the cleaned bare metal parts, especially with
all the dents removed prior and all the parts being paint ready.
Gonna be busy for a while . . .
