China's steady growth creates opportunities for Brazil, world, says Brazilian expert

China's evolving consumption patterns and rapid green transition are creating new opportunities for Brazilian industries such as food processing, renewable energy and digital services.

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China remains a massive market and a key global source of investment amid global economic uncertainties, and its sustained growth is creating development opportunities for Brazil and beyond, a Brazilian expert has said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Marcos Pires, a professor of Political Economy at Sao Paulo State University, said that while the United States has continued to fuel geopolitical tensions and impose unilateral economic pressures -- disrupting global industrial and supply chains -- China's steady economic performance has served as an "anchor of stability" for global development.

China has also created opportunities for countries of the Global South, including Brazil, he noted. China has been Brazil's top trading partner for several consecutive years. According to Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, China remains Brazil's main export destination in 2024, accounting for 28 percent of total exports.
