I drove to Pennsylvania from Virginia to Monster Cat Creations again
Where my son Shouta is working as an apprentice
I needed to deliver some supplies before starting my new job
I cannot complain too much
The drive is only 4 hours long
And it is extremely beautiful
It is one of the things I do love about America
Driving anywhere I want to go without restrictions
When the weather is good
The drive is very relaxing
Got a picture of the Washington Monument yesterday while visiting my old work near the capitol on Wednesday.
I actually saw some Amish in a horse and buggy along the way
My son got me some Japanese snacks yesterday
Two flavors
Blueberry
Strawberry
I ate the Blueberry snacks on the way to Monster Cat on Wednesday
And then ate the Strawberry snacks on the way back home
ブログで1年後の自分へ手紙を書こう! みんなの回答を見る Writing a letter to myself in the future, I think I should probably remind myself to keep blogging no matter what. A year from now I hope I feel as open and safe to tell my story as I do today. I think I will, but I have only been blogging for a few months now actively on Ameba, and a year seems a long time from now. キャンペーン詳細 For the future I want to remind myself to keep fighting for my trip to Japan. One year from now I should have several million Yen saved-up for the trip, and if I don't, this letter is my scolding to myself to work harder.
My son Shouta is heading home from KenToykoCon today
Before he left he took some pictures of him at our friends house
They have lots of birds
They are, "ring neck parrots", are trained, friendly and will play with you
One of the birds, "click", liked Shouta and stayed on his head (LOL)
Very pretty birds!
Shouta also took pictures of fursuiters at KenToykoCon
I came across a funny picture today
It is a mistake made by Google Earth
It mapped a bridge to look like a roller coaster
For my serious topic
The Geisha
I came across an article in the Japan Times about how the Geisha are dying out as a profession
Geisha Megumi (center, back) poses with other geisha in Hachioji. | COURTESY OF GEISHA MEGUMI
From the article in the Japan Times by KOTARO OHASHI
I was very disturbed by this
Geisha is something unique to Japan
Among the many amazing things about the Japanese people
I am often amazed at how nice and courteous Japanese are
Restraunts, hotels, coffee shops, businesses, etc, etc
The Japanese stand out as being wonderfully friendly and helpful
Geisha is a unique example of this quality of Japanese people
So as an American this seems strange and sad
It is clear that Japan is willing to spend lots of money on festivals
So much so that the high costs have made it to the news
That is wonderful and good
But then I read about Geisha who can't even find apprentices
Some even die alone and forgotten
In a world that is getting more stressful every day
From America it seems that Japan should try harder to help Geisha culture survive
Unless I am missing something?
I do not understand it
Is it wrong to feel bad by this?
This is a special time for me
I get to spend time with my two sons this
is the last week before I go back to work
I will be very busy when my new job starts
The first 90 days in a job is the most critical time

His Happiness Is What Matters Most
That Is How I Proove It
Spending Time With Them Doing What They Enjoy
The Location Does Not Matter Matter At All
As Long As We Are Doing Things They Love Together As A Family
They Are Very Happy.
I Must Also Admit
They help cure my loneliness
It Is Hard Work For A Parent To Adapt To Change
It Is A Lesson For Parents Like Us In The Modern Era
Children Are Growing Up In A New Digital World
We Parents Did Not Grow Up In This World
It Simply Did Not Exist Yet
The Things Our kids do for fun today
We did not have
historical lesson we can learn from here
No wisdom from elders that can digital world
The digital world is also dangerous
It is dangerous because it exposes everyone to the world
For me that is motivation enough
By spending lots of time with my kids
And doing the things they love to do
I am with them
I can protect them them
I can understand their world better
It helps me understand their thinking
I still have sometimes as a parent
But I will always keep trying
That is why this week is my vacation with them
It will be a happy time
I am also fixing a laptop for a friend
Before I could get started
My Cat Ozzy demanded love
He is over 9 kg (20 lbs)
When he jumps on me
There is not much I can do but pet him
