after the Baltimore Ravens finished undefeated at home for
the first time in team history.Harbaugh should have given it to Browns rookie
Phil Taylor. When it looked like the Ravens were going to have to give the ball
back to the Browns, Taylor jumped offside when everyone on both teams and in the
stadium knew Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco was trying to draw the defense to
do so. The penalty on the 2011 first-round pick allowed the Ravens to convert a
fourth-and-two immediately after the two-minute warning and allowed them to run
out the clock for a 20-14 win at M&T Bank Stadium. If Taylor didn't jump, the
Ravens would have punted the ball to the Browns, who were one
length-of-the-field touchdown drive from winning the game."It was the first hard
count and we stayed onside. The second time, I just jumped," Taylor told The
Associated Press. "Of course you feel bad but you just got to move on."It was
surprising to see Taylor jump because he is lined up over the ball. He just
needed to stay still until he saw the ball move
.No one was more shocked by the outcome than Flacco.“I don’t
know if I’ve ever been in position for that to happen," Flacco said. "It’s never
worked.”Asked if the Ravens even had a play called when they walked up to the
line, he said, “Come on, you guys can figure it out. The play clock was at two
seconds, and we hadn’t snapped the ball yet.”The Browns had several blunders
that helped the Ravens to win, like running the ball with no timeouts in the
final seconds of the first half. But the biggest one was Taylor's gaffe.Browns
coach Pat Shurmur said they talked to the players about the potential of the
Ravens trying to draw them offside during the two-minute warning break."We had a
nice huddle to discuss that might happen," Shurmur said.
