ベトナム知的財産法64条では、工業デザインとして保護しないものを定義しています。
Article 64 –Subject matters not protected as industrial designs
The following subject matters shall not be protected as industrial designs:
1. Appearance of a product, which is dictated by the technical features of the product (その物品の技術的特徴によって決定づけられた物品の外観);
2. Appearance of a civil or an industrial construction work (土木または工業建築物の外観);
3. Shape of a product, which is invisible during the use of the product (使用時に視認出来ない物品の形状).
