そちらの筆者さんが掲載されている面白い文章を
ぜひ皆さんに見てもらいたいので転載します。

子供を持つ親としても考えちゃう文章です、、。
「いま35歳以上の人はもうとっくに死んでいる筈らしい」
そもそも僕らのベビーベッドときたら、
鉛のたっぷり入ったテカテカの派手な塗装だったし
薬の入ったビンやドア、引き出しなんかも子供が開けられないような仕組みはなかった
初めて自転車にのったときからヘルメットなんかしてなかったし、
大きくなったらヒッチハイクだってしたしね
子供の時だって車に乗るときはシートベルトなんかしなかったし、
車にはもちろんエアバッグなんかついてなかった
天気のいい日にトラックの荷台にのせてもらうのはとっておきのごほうびだった
水だってペットボトルなんかじゃなくて、
庭のホースから飲んでたよね、信じられる？
カップケーキだのバターたっぷりのパン、
砂糖の入った炭酸ジュースなんか大好でたくさん飲んだり食べたりしたけど、
いっつも外で走り回ってたからだれも肥満になるヤツなんかいなかった
一本のジュースを仲間で回し飲みもしたけど、
それで病気がうつって死んだやつなんかいなかった
ガラクタを集めて何時間もかけて
ゴーカートを作って坂道の上から走らせたりしたよね。
ブレーキをつけていなかったことに気がつくのは
いつも発車してからなんだ
なんどか茂みに突っ込んで、
ようやくどうすればよいのか学ぶんだ
朝早く家をでたら、
街灯がつくまで一日中外で遊んでいられた
僕らを呼び戻す携帯電話なんかなかったしね
信じられる？ 携帯電話の無い世界！
プレイステーションも、X-Boxはもとより、
そもそもテレビゲームなんてものは存在しかなった。
99チャンネルもあるケーブルテレビもなけりゃ、
レンタルビデオ、サラウンドシステムも、
パソコンやインターネット、オンラインチャットなんて無い世界
でも、僕らには友達がいた
家から飛び出せば、一緒に遊ぶ友達はすぐに見つかった
ドッジボールで遊んでいて、
ボールがぶつかってマジで痛い思いをしたもんだ
木のぼりして落ちて、骨や歯をおったりするアクシデントに見舞われても、
裁判沙汰になんかならなかった
だってアクシデントだもん
誰も責められないよね？ アクシデントだもん
友達と殴り合いのケンカして、
あざをつくったりしてもなんとかそれを乗り越えることを学んだ
テニスボールと棒切れさえあればいろんなゲームを思いついて遊んだもんだ
目が潰れるぞって親におどされたけど、
やっぱりミミズを食って見たもんだ、
で、ミミズは永久に体の中で生きているってのもウソだって身を持って確認したよね
自転車や歩きで友達の家まで行って、ドアをノックしたり、
あるいは勝手に中に入って、友達といつまでも語り合っていた
リトルリーグには入団試験があって誰でも入れるわけではなかった
入れなかったヤツはくやしさを乗り越えることを覚えなければならなかった
クラスメートの中には、勉強ができなくてダブってるやつもいた。 恐ろしいね
試験の結果が「調整される」なんてことはあり得なかった
自分の行動は自分の責任
どうすればどういう結果になるかはちゃんとわかっていた
警察に捕まった子供に親が保釈金を出すなんで想像もつかない時代だった
親に警察に連れて行くぞって脅されたもんだ
想像できるかい？
こういう時代に子供時代を過ごした僕らには自然と、
危険と向き合う能力、問題を解決する能力、画期的な発明をする能力が身についた
過去50年の発明と革新の歴史を振り返ってごらん
僕らには自由があった、失敗も、成功も、責任も そしてそれらとどう向き合うかを学んだ
おめでとう 君もその時代の一人だ
幸運にもこうした時代に生まれ育った他の人にも是非この文面を回して欲しい
「子供のため」の大義名分のもと、
弁護士や政府に過保護に育てられた35歳以下の連中には本当に同情する

People over 35 should be dead. Here's why . According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't have survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, .... ! and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.) As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors! We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!! U n t h i n k a b l e ! We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64! , X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember accidents? We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors! Tests were not adjusted for any reason. Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them! Congratulations! Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own good!!!! People under 35 are WIMPS!
