ヤンゴンは雨季突入です。この前まで青空の毎日だったのに、スイッチが入ったように土砂降りになっています。これから先6カ月間ほど、傘が離せません。雨の量がハンパないので、道が水没するんですよねぇ・・・。水たまりは危険なため破傷風の予防接種が必須でございますー
さて、今日はこの曲。ヒットメーカー、初のNo.1ソング。

邦題は「見つめて欲しい」。「見つめていたい」じゃないっす
。この曲は1984年4月から5月にかけて3週間、最高1位を記録。サントラ「Against All Odds」（邦題：カリブの熱い夜）からのヒットシングルで、数多くヒットを放っているPhilの初のNo.1ソングです。サントラのジャケも情熱的で印象深かったっすね
ピアノで始まるキレイなバラード。この曲がヒットしていた時はFootlooseやJumpが流行っていて、単純な高一男子はやはり明るいRockに心惹かれとりました。そんな中、スルスルっとこのバラード曲が1位になったのをよ～く覚えてます。おそらくこの年初のバラードNo.1ソングじゃなかったかな
PVは映画のシーンとPhilが歌うシーンが交互に出てくる感じのビデオ。まぁ、サントラだしなぁ、しょーがないか
。しかし！ 印象的なのは冒頭で出てくる土偶（？）。こいつ、一瞬歌っちゃいます
。ちょいオモロイ。
Mariah Careyなどにもカバーされてるみたいですね。こんな感じ。やっぱ彼女も歌がうまい。

This song got 3 weeks No.1 on Billboard Magazine from April to May of 1984. It was cut from Original Soundtrack “Against All Odds”. This song was 1st No.1 US hit for Phil.
It started with beautiful piano play. At that time, good rock song like Footloose or Jump of Van Halen was at the top. During such situation, this power ballad song got No.1. I remembered this is 1st ballad No.1 song in 1984.
This video was made with Phil and movie scene. Such kind of mask at the beginning was very interesting because Phil’s mouth was overlapped.
Mariah also sang this song.
