こんばんは。ヤンゴン在住・つっちゃんです。
ミャンマーはイギリス領だったこともありウィスキーが意外と豊富っす。で、先日買ってみました。その名も「GRAND ROYAL Double Gold」。意外とうまいですよ、これ。14,000チャット（1,400円）でリーズナブル。ただイケてないのが瓶全体が金色で覆われていて中身が全く見えないこと・・・。
さて、今日はこの曲。この曲から大ブレイクが始まりましたね。

邦題は「ビートに抱かれて」。この曲はBillboard誌で1984年7月から8月にかけて5週連続で1位に輝きました。サントラですが、彼の6枚目、The Revolutionを携えての1枚目の、もうそりゃ売れに売れたAlbum「Purple Rain」からの1stシングルです。
売れてましたねぇ、この曲
。出だしのギター弾きまくり＋独特のドラム音＋虫の羽音のようなボコーダ音、もうキョーレツに覚えてます。当時、「Let’s Go Crazy」のほうがノリが良くて好きだったけど、やはりこの曲もいいっす
PVはちょいキモい。湯けむりの中の入浴中Prince・・・。トカゲ歩きの全裸Prince・・・。キモいっす
。前半は映画シーンを取り入れてて、後半はRevolutionの面々とスタジオで演奏してるシーンっす。Wendyのギターがかっこいいのよねぇ・・・
この年、米国のおじさん家に夏休みに旅行に行ってました。で、「この映画を見たい！」とお願いしたところ、内容的にNG（高一男子には早すぎると）。で、Ghostbustersになりました・・・
Dovesってハトなんですねー、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

As you know Myanmar was British colony therefore there are some whiskey bland. So I bought one. It is called “Grand Royal, Double Gold”. It’s good taste and only 14,000 kyat ($14). But entire of a bottle is covered gold color, so I can not see in bottle…
Well, today’s song it this. This song was the start to break.
“ Prince and The Revolution / When Doves Cry “
This song got 5 weeks No.1 on Billboard Magazine from July to August of 1984. It was cut from Sound Track album and also his 6th album “Purple Rain”.
This song was mega hit. You can hear guitar sound, drum sound and interesting voice at the beginning of this song. I liked “Let’s Go Crazy” better than this song however this song was also impressive song.
PV was little yucky. Prince in bathtub, Prince walking like a lizard…. Yucky. 1st half of video was movie scene and another half was scene of playing with The Revolution. Wendy playing guitar was so cool.
I visited to my uncle living in US in August of 1984. I asked him to take me to movie theater to watch Purple Rain but he did not say Yes. (It was not good for boy…?) So we yachted Goastbusters….
Yacky but cool, try this song.
