いま、ヤンゴンは冬です。朝夕は気温が25度ぐらいまで下がる時があります。なので現地の方々はオフィスにマフラーしてきたりジャケット着てきたりします。まぁ、当然私は半袖ですがね。だって日中の気温は30度超えるんだもん
さて、今日はこの曲でいってみましょう。狼の次は蛇。
「Duran Duran / Union Of The Snake」
この曲はBillboard誌で1983年12月から1月にかけて2週間、最高3位を記録してました。彼らの3rd Album「Seven and the Ragged Tiger」からの1stシングルで、メガヒット連発の幕開けとなる曲です
ご存知ニューロマンティックの大本命。毎月穴があくほど読みまくっていた雑誌、「MUSIC LIFE」の常連っすね（編集長だった東郷かおる子さんはどうしてんだろ？
）。
基本、前作「Hungry Like The Wolf」と同じ路線なんだけど、個人的にこのAlbumで少し方向が変わったような気がします。まずちょっと音が大げさかなぁ。シンセが前作以上に多用されてるからだと思います
あとその代わりとしてギターが目立たなくなったから。カッティングだけなんだもん。このAlbumの少し後、ギターのAndyが「もっとギター弾きたいよー
」ってことで、Power Stationを組んだって噂を聞いた覚えがあります
でも、でもですよ。中三男子にそんなことは関係ありませぬ。売れててカッコよければOK。しかも毎月MUSIC LIFEにたくさん写真が載ってたら、もう好きになるしかありません。ということで、この曲好きです（笑） PVもとても凝ってて観てて楽しいし。あー、単純な中三男子
ニューでロマンティック、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

Winter season has come in Myanmar. Temperature is around 25 degrees in morning and evening. So, my Myanmar colleague come to our office with jacket and scarf (it’s true!). However, of course I have short sleeve shirt on, because 30 degrees in day time….
Well, let’s move to today’s song. Here comes a snake after an wolf.
“ Duran Duran / Union Of The Snake “
This song got 2 weeks No.3 from Dec of 1983 to Jan of 1984. This was the 1st single from their big hit album “Seven And The Ragged Tiger”, and this was the beginning of mega hit singles.
As you know, they were top artist of New Romantic band from UK, and also they were regular of my favorite Japanese magazine, “MUSIC LIFE”.
This song almost followed previous album “Rio”, but I think they changed a little from this album. At first, synthesizer sound was too exaggerative, and then, guitar sound was declined. Just only cutting guitar sound. I remember Andy Taylor who was the guitar player said to play guitar more and then formed Power Station.
But!, however!!, I didn’t take care about that. If it was cool and big hit song, it was no problem, no issue. So, I like this song even now.
New and Romantic, try this song.
