最近訪緬する外人が多いせいか、ちょっとしたBarがいくつかあります。で、先日はReggae Barに行ってきました。当然壁には大きなBob Marleyの絵が。ここでBobを見れるとは。ちょっと嬉しいっす。
さて、今日はこの曲です。強烈なインパクトのあった1曲です。
この曲はBillboard誌で1983年7月に最高12位を記録しました。1982年の12月に一度44位まであがりましたが、「Little Red Corvette」のTop10入りを受けて1983年に再リリースされて12位を記録した、ちょっと背景がおもろい曲です。
爆発的に売れる前年のヒット曲。私にとってPrince初体験ということもあり、幾多もある彼の素晴らしい曲の中でも印象に残っている曲の1つです。
ちょっとタメのあるリズムのFunk Rockで、印象的なSynthesizerから始まり、Princeの曲の大きな特徴の1つのDrumサウンドが特徴的。
PVは中坊の私にはパンチ力ありすぎでした（笑） 全体通して紫色。Princeの風貌、妖艶なLisa、そして黒人がバンドを組んでRockをしていることに驚きました。これがまたカッコいいんだわ。
そして何よりも強烈なインパクトを残したのがアルバムジャケットかな。一言「キモっ！」というのが第一印象。とくに9の穴から覗く眼が・・・ :-( もーキョーレツに頭の中に残ってます（笑） LPが２枚組だったのも印象深かったなぁ。
PopなFunk Rockですが、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

Because visitor from overseas increases, there are some bars in Yangon. I hit a reggae bar few weeks ago. Of cause, there is a big Bob Marley picture in the wall. Bob in Yangon, little happy :-)

“ Prince / 1999 “
This song got No.12 on Billboard Magazine in July of 1983. Actually, this song was released in 1982 at once and got No.44. However it was released again in 1983 after “Little Red Corvette” got Top10 hit.
This song was the first Prince song for me. So this is one of the most impressive song for me.
It was good funk rock song and started with impressive synthesizer and drum sounds.
And video had a impact for me. It was purple. And also his looks and mysterious Lisa. I got big surprise because black artists played rock music. It was cool.
Also album jacket had a huge huge impact for me…. My first impression was “it’s yucky!!”. Especially his eyes at the hole of 9. I can’t forget this jacket… This album had 2 records.
