最近、ヤンゴンは外資系の会社が多く入ってきています。日本企業もしかり。それゆえ、実はそこかしこに日本料理屋があります。先日も居酒屋で塩サバ頂きました。
さて今日はこの曲。声がとてもしっとりしていい感じです。
「Naked Eyes / Always Something There To Remind Me」
邦題は「僕はこんなに」。この曲はBillboard誌で1983年6月に2週連続で8位を記録しています。Self Titleの1st AlbumからのSingleです。
ちょっと地味なUK二人組ですが、曲はとてもメロディがキレイで、少し寂しさを感じさせるエレクトリック・ポップ・ソング。Synthesizerが全面に出ていて、パイプオルガンを模して教会でのウェディングを表現してるのがおもしろいです。それともう1つの特徴はVoのPete Byrneの声。とてもしっとりした声質で大好きっす。
PVはMusic TomatoでPVが繰り返し放送されてたのでよく覚えています。彼らの演奏シーンはないのですが、ストーリー性のあるPVが特徴的っすね。このころのPVはちょっと靄がかかったようになっているのは時代のせいかな・・・？

This song got two weeks No.8 on Billboard Magazine in June of 1983.
Little somberness two guys played this electric pop song which had good melody and little loneliness. You can hear synthesizer sound like a pipe organ and you can imagine an wedding at a church. And Pete Byrne’s voice is very impressive. It’s very smooth. I love this voice.
I remember the video well because this video played over and over on TV programs. You can not see that they play, however this video had a story…
