こんばんは。ヤンゴン在中・つっちゃんです。
日本では敬称としてよく「さん」を使います。これは男女どちらにでも使えますよね。ミャンマーはちょっと違います。年配/目上の男性には「U（ウー）」、同様の女性には「Daw（ドー）」、友達や年下などの男性には「Ko（コー）」、同様の女性には「Ma（マー）」を使います。これ、間違えるとかなり失礼みたいなんですが、名前からだと男女がわからないので、結局「san」を最後につけてしのいでます・・・（笑）
さて、今日はこの曲。世界中でのブレイク前でしたが大大大好きな曲です。
この曲はアメリカでは全然でした（笑）。もしかするとアメリカではそもそもシングルカットすらされていないかもしれません。
しかし！、私のWham!の入り口の曲です。個人的には彼らの数多くの楽曲の中でもダントツで好きで、本当によく聞き込んだ曲です。
彼らのFirst AlbumのB面Topを飾る曲で、虫の声・車のエンジン音に続いて二人の女性がハイヒールで歩く足音、そこからフェードインしてくるChicばりのカッティングギターとDisco調のベース。もうどうにもこうにも、今聴いてもシビれます。
Music TomatoでPVをみて一発でやられて、お小遣い握りしめてすぐに（本当にすぐに）レコード屋に駆け込んでLPを買ったのを思い出すなぁ・・・。レコードのおまけで「Wham!新聞」みたいのがついてた覚えが。
イギリス出身の、これまた第２次British Invasion組ですが、個人的にはちょっと他とは違うように思います。デビュー当初は「まさにモータウンサウンド！」的な言われ方していて、他の曲含めてとてもSoulfulなのが特徴です。George Michaelの才能でしょう。
もう曲だけで十分良いのですが、PVも爽やかでよいです（コメントが雑っすね（笑））

“-san” is used for calling name as polite expression in Japan. It is possible to use it for man and woman. It is little different in Myanmar. “U” for elder men, “Daw” for elder woman, “Ko” for friend or younger man, and “Ma” for woman as Ko. If mistake to use, it’s so rude. But we can not know from name if that name is for a man or woman. So, I’m using “-san” same as Japanese case… :-P
Well, today’s song is this. Before breaking through in the world but I love.

This song was not on US charts. I think it might not be released single record in US.
But!!, I love this song more than their other their songs. I really really listened to this song over and over.
This song was the first song of B-side of their debut album “Fantastic”, and it started with the sound of insects and walking high heels, then disco bass sound came in. So cool!
I ran into the record shop with grabbing my allowance to buy this record soon after watching this video on TV.
They are also the one of the artists of 2nd British Invasion, however I think they were little different from other such kind of artists. Their sound was based on Motown sound, so they had a soul flavor. I think it came from George Michael talent.
To listen to this song is enough! But try this video also. You can feel you are in a resort hotel.
Anyhow, anyway, try this song!
