日本で食事の会計時に「シメをお願いします」とか言いますが、ミャンマーではシメを「シメイ」といいます。「だから何？」と言われちゃうとそれまでなのですが、似てるな、と。
今日はこの曲。メロディがとてもキレイです。
「Chicago / Hard To Say I’m Sorry」
邦題「素直になれなくて」です。この曲はBillbord誌で1982年9月に2週間1位になりました。とてもメロディがキレイなAORバラードで、Peter Ceteraの澄んだ声で歌い上げています。曲の後半で展開が急に変わるのもカッコよくて好きでした。ただ残念なことにこのPVにはその部分が含まれてませーん
個人的には1982年でも特に印象に残っている曲の1つかな。
Album Jacketも、白一色の中に虫眼鏡で覗いた電子基板にChicago、と特徴のあるもので、これまた印象深かったのを覚えています。
この後もバラードヒット曲を連発してたので、そういうバンドなのかと思ってたんだけど、後年、Brass Bandと呼ばれるHornを多用したRock Bandだったというのを知りました。車のCMとかで使われていた曲もあるので、知っている方も多いかも。
キレイなキレイなバラード、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

This song got 2 weeks No.1 on Billboard magazine at September 1982. Very beautiful melody ballad AOR song, and Vocalist, Peter Cetera, sang with his very clearly voice. This song change its tempo at the last. It’s so beautiful. Unfortunately, this official video does not include that part…. :-(
This is the one of the most impressive songs in 1982 for me.
Album jacket is just white and Chicago in a magnifying lens. It’s very attractive for me, so it also makes this song be special for me.
They sang a lot of ballad songs after this song, so I thought this band sang only ballad. However they are Brass Band who play rock music with brass instruments. You may know this song because it’s very famous and was used for TV CM of a car in Japan.
Super beautiful ballad song, try it.
