ミャンマーは国民の９割以上が敬虔な仏教徒です。それゆえ、観光地という観光地はほぼ全て寺と仏像です。ちなみにこちらでは寺のことをパゴダと言います。
さて、今日はこの1曲です。大人になってから大ファンになったこの方。
「Jackson Browne / Somebody’s Baby」
この曲はBillboard誌で1982年10月に3週間に渡って最高7位を記録していました。
当時日本でも絶大な人気があり、私も大ファンだったPhoebe Catesが出演していた映画「初体験 リッジモント・ハイ」のサントラに提供されていた曲です。
このPVもその映画のシーンをつないだものなんだけど、歌ってる本人が一切出てこないってのが笑えます。出てくる俳優たちが、今は超大物になってる人ばかりってのも時代を感じさせます。
ついつい口ずさみたくなる曲調の良い曲で、彼女のいない中学生/高校生の気持ちをドンピシャで表しているなぁ、と後日思いました（笑）
ただこの曲は彼にとって少し特殊な位置付けにある曲かと思います。彼はなかなか自分のAlbum以外に楽曲提供することはないのですが、この曲は例外。サントラへの参加Artistが彼と馴染み深い人ばかりだったからなのかな。
West Coast Rockの代表的存在の一人で、80年代のMTV、商業主義的なこととは正反対の位置にいるArtistなんだけど、そんな彼もこの年代にいくつかの曲をチャートに入れてきています。
Jackson Browneの幾多もある名曲も大好きですが、この曲はこの曲で大好きです。
ついつい口ずさみたくなると思いますので、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

Well, today’s song is this. He is one of my favorite artists.
“ Jackson Browne / Somebody’s Baby “
This song settled No.7 on Billboard magazine during 3 weeks of October 1982. This song was written for the movie “Firstimes At Ridgemont High” which was that Phoebe Cates who was most poplar actress in Japan, was casted.
This music video is made with the scene of this movie but Browne does not appear. The actors and actresses are now big star.
This song is easy to sing because of good melody. And it expresses teenager’s heart.
However this song is little different position in other Browne’s song. He is one of the singer of West Coast Rock, and I think he may not be familiar 80’s MTV and music scene. However he wrote good songs like this in 80’s.
I love a lot of famous his songs, for example Doctor My Eyes, but this song is also I love.
It’s easy to sing, try it.
