散歩日和

久しぶりの晴天！

先週、友人Marikoが日本に帰国した日あたりから、毎日のように続いた曇天が嘘のように晴れ渡った。

澄み切った青空を見上げた僕は思わず「マリコさんも沖縄帰って元気になったんかな？」と呟いてしまった程だ。どこまでも、ホントにどこまでも青い空と白い雲・・・

さて、僕は今日何をしよう？

It was a great day today!

Since last week when my friend Mariko went back to Japan, it was cloudy and rainning almost everyday but I've got fineday finally! I wondered she is getting better like this weather... maybe she is! There was no limit to blue clear sky and truely white cloud everywhere!

so... what am I going to do today?

ふと、思い立った僕は上着をはおり、まだ若干肌寒い、それでいてすこ～しだけ春のにほいのする街へと繰り出した。

街は、もうすぐ始まる冬季五輪のせいか観光客らしき人が多く闊歩しており、ビルやアートギャラリーもオリンピック化粧を施されていた。皆が思い思いに、この久方ぶりの小春日和を堪能しているようだ・・・

I wore my jacket then went to DT which was with bit spring atmosphere. There were many people who seem like to visit for the Olympics in DT. Also some buildings were decorated for the Olympics! Even though I'm not a big fun of it, I felt excited... cuz of this beautiful weather!

いつもの銀行に立ち寄り用事を済ませた後、僕の目前をＢｕｒｒａｒｄＳｔ．を右折する138番バスが通過。

そこでふと僕が思いついたのが本日のショート・トリップ、going to SFUだ。

Ｖａｎ近郊にある大学といえば、ＵＢＣとＳＦＵが２台巨頭だと思うのだが、ＵＢＣには行ったことがあるものの、ＳＦＵには一度も立ち寄ったことがない・・・過去、ぶらりとＵＢＣに行った時には、その巨大さ（大学と言うより一つの街である）と周りを取り囲む海の青さ、様々な施設（日本庭園、博物館、湿地帯等）に圧倒されつつ、完全なる日本人観光客と化してしまった僕であった。

早速バラッドからＳＦＵ行きのバスに乗り込み、遠足に向かう子供のようにワクワクしながら、ＳＦＵへ・・・バスは一直線にＨａｓｔｉｎｇｓＳｔ．を一路東へと向かった。

全く予備知識を持たず、単なる思いつきで乗車した僕は、途中、あまりにも長いバスライドに何度か挫けそうに・・・だが、最終的に目的地ＳＦＵに到着。そこは、海に囲まれたＵＢＣとは対照的に、白樺林に囲まれた閑静な学園都市であった。「きれ～」思わずうっとりする僕。

下車した僕は、早速学内を徘徊。晴天と相まって、まるで、学生時代に戻ったかのような楽しい旅を満喫。珈琲も３杯も飲んでしまった。やべ～、今夜も眠れん！

I saw the passing bus going to SFU by accident soon after finished my errand in bank then sudden random thought, I decided to go to SFU cuz I've never been to there. I had been to UBC, another enormous university in BC, there was so impressive sight... lots of beach, museum, etc... as if I was complete Japanese sightseer. Hahahaha... so Let's go to SFU!

Unlike UBC, SFU was surround with trees it was absolutely beautiful! I took a walk with coffee. Uuuuu~ so much coffee... can't sleep tonight!

でも、ホンマ綺麗なのだ！特にキャンパス内から望める山々の景色。山頂に少し雪を頂いた山また山・・・それが空の青と相まって、絶妙なグラデーションを描いていた。

It was really beautiful! especially the mountain view with top of snow from this campus! with blue sky like drawing picture gradationally!

しばらく、学内をお散歩した後、カツカレーを食べて帰りのバスに乗る。

ＤＴに到着した僕は近所の教会前を通りながら、また空を仰いだ「何かいいこと起きるかも・・・」不思議な予感がしたのだった。

After my short-trip was done I went back to DT then passing over in front of church... I had there was a sense of something new or good happen.

みんなにいいことが訪れますよう。。。

My Favorite Songs PartⅡ

I know those who see my blog might think... "He make up same kinda article so his idea must be depleted!" I knew it!!! Yup, I brought in about my favorite songs part1 last time, I felt that still I have a lot of songs I love...so I wasn't satisfied yet
Since this is my Blog, it must contribute for my satisfaction!!!
Hahahahaha I'm such a selfish Bloger! And yet This time will be English only cuz I'm tired making both Japanese and English sentence right now!!!!

First of all, I love him, respect him. There are lots of songs he made and I think most songs he made are well-known all over the world!
Especially this one is my looooooooooooooooog time favorite! Wow! can't wait!

Secondly, I'm not really sure other songs they've sung, however, when I was listening this song 1st time, I felt secure and comfortable as if I was a baby in a mother's arms...It's a beautiful song isn't it? I believe so~

Treasure hunting ; p

休日を利用して宝探しの旅に出た・・・

ここには、古本、古着、家具、アート、ガラクタ同然のものまで、僕にとってはまるでおもちゃ箱のような楽しいもの達が街中に溢れている。そうした「アンティーク」が、この街並みにすっかり馴染んで、新しいもの達と共存しているのだ。

僕はこうした古いものが無造作に積み上げられた空間が大好きだ！

そうしたもの達の中から、宝物を見つけ出す作業そのものが大好きなのだ！

さて、今日はどんな出会いが待っているのだろう・・・

本日のテーマは「本」それも「写真集」であった。最初に向かったのは、ガスタウン近くにある、Macleod'sという古本屋。入口も昨今の勝手に閉まるようなものではなく、きちんと人手で閉めなくては閉まらないという古い扉。中は、足元から天井に至るまで、本、本、また本で埋め尽くされている。

いったい全体何冊の蔵書があるのだろう・・・京極堂もまっつあおである

ここは、ともかくありとあらゆる書物が所狭しと店内を埋め尽くしており、特定の本（僕の場合は、僕が気に入ればそれで良かったのだが・・・）を探し出すのは容易ではない。結局、本が好きで好きでたまらないという店員さんとの会話を含め、１時間近く彷徨ってしまった。が、収穫はゼロ。その後、近くの幾つかの書店を廻るが、やっぱりこれといった収穫は得られなかった。

I've been to "Treasure Hunting" the other day! I mean looking for books(especially 2nd hand), vintage clothes, Art, any antiques etc... One of the reasons why I like Van is there are many of them in this city, and besides they are not useless but still on the active!

I really love these things and the space full of them.

Todays target is "photo book". I want to find sth inspired me!!!!!!

At 1st, I went to "Macleod's used bookstore" on Pender. Wow! There are many! literary many many books! I spent about 1hr in here...included the conversation w/ salesclerk who really love old books. Also I looked for my ideal book but I couldn't make it... unfortunately.

ウオーミングアップも終わり、次に向かったのはW.BroadwayにあるOscar's Art Books。古本屋ではないが、先日、友人Mariko氏から聞いて、密かに狙っていた店だ。Artという店名からわかるように、絵画、写真等の芸術書がメインである。

「こいつは期待できそうだぞ！」意気揚々とグランビル橋を渡る僕
店内には、やはりArt関係の本が数多に並ぶ・・・ここでも30～40分程費やしただろうか、絵画、料理、お目当ての写真集まで、数多くの本達に出合えた。が、やはり僕のピンと来る蔵書には出会えず・・・ただただ己の甘さを痛感。

After roving DT, I went to W,Broadway then I reached "Oscar's Art Books" which has a lot of Art books.

I expected that I might find one that I looked for so I found books about art, cooking even some photobooks but I couldn't find that I really want. Haaaaa~ This is not a piece of cake!

ついでに、その隣にあるABCという古本屋へ直行。だが、ここでも、埒が明かず・・・

Ｂｒｏａｄ　ｗａｙに見切りをつけた僕は、その足でW4thへと進入。

書店巡りもなんのその、ついフラフラと中古レコード店Zulu Recoadへ・・・レコード探索を楽しんだり、古着屋Ｍｉｎｔａｇｅで帽子を被ったりして遊んでしまった。

I gave up looking for it on Broadway, but 4th street. Let's bigin again!

However, I went to "Zulu Recoad(used recoadshop) and Mintage(vintage clothshop)" then walking around, looking for recoads or sth...it seemed like I forgot my purpose totally and just playing!!! in fact that was fun!

しばらくの間、当初の目的を忘れ遊び呆けていた僕であったが、Ｃａｎｔeｒｂury Talesという古本屋を発見！思わず、ハッと我に返る・・・「あ、そやった・・・」

この店では、店内の至る所にソファ（かなり座り心地が良い）が置いてあって、あまりの居心地の良さに、本を探しては座って捲り、また返して、また持ってきて・・・と、図書館のような甘美な一時を堪能。が、が、が、いまだ収穫はなし！

For a while I was just playing without any purpose then I suddenly realized my goal of finding photo book today as finding another used bookstore named "Canterbury Tales". OMG!

There were some sofas anywhere in that store and they were really confortable. Again I spent long time to read books. That was great! and... whoa? but, oh~ I've still nothing!!!! F@*k me!

またまた、ブレイクを挿んでしまった僕は、ここにはないだろうと思いながら、Does Your Mother Know?（お前の母ちゃん知ってんのか？）という雑誌専門店へ。

案の定「ブツ」を見つけることは適わなかった。楽しかったけど。

Next, I went magazin store named "Does ur mother know?" keep looking and ofcaurse I couldn't find anything.

ホントに気に入る写真集てないもんだなあ～、ぶつぶつ。などとのたまってはみたが、無いものはナイ。

いっそ、自分で撮った方が・・・などと、無謀かつありえない感想を持ちつつ、W4th最後の砦、Books Warehouseへ。てか、ここはチェーン店であちこちにあって、先日も家の近くのDavie店を覗いたが、気に入ったものが見つけられなかったというのが今回の出発点であるからにして・・・期待はできない　書店としては好きなのだけれど。でも、ここで、２冊の本を購入！当初の目的とは全然違うものの、眺めている内に僕の蟻の脳味噌ほどの忍耐はあっけなく吹き飛んだのだ！！

一つは、C-Foodという料理写真集。僕は本来、料理をArtと位置づけるのは好きではない。創作するものではあるし、美しくもあるのだが、僕の中では料理は料理以外の何者でもない。だが、しかし、この本に載っている料理たちは紛れもなくArtだ！それも前衛芸術だ！

もう一冊は、既に昨年映画で見てしまっていたのだが、Julie&Juliaという小説。映画ではメリルストリープがとてもチャーミングで、昨年観た映画の中でもお気に入りの１本である。

"Gosh! It's hard to find it... maybe I can take pic myself" I thought but it was wrong. I wish I could

so I went to the last place on 4th named "Books Warehouse" without any hope, but unexpectedly I found some books which I'm interested in and picked them up!

One of them named C-food which has the art of food! Honestly I don't think food is kinda art things but those foods in this book would be art! They looks fantastic! Wow so excited! also I found novel Julie&Julia that I already watched on movie last year and I love it!

いや～楽しかった

終わりよければ全てよしということでDTに引き上げた僕は、近所の書店（↑上と同じ名前）で、小柄な本を偶然に見つけた。「こ、これは！？」

そう、今回の一番の収穫・・・探していたイメージに近い写真集というか本

「i am neurotic (and so are you)」を発見してしまったのだった！！

That was fun anw although these books I found was not really what I looking for, I felt kinda satisfuction to some extent so I was back to DT...and...then by accident, I found PhotoBook that is not exactly I've been looking for but I love it! I made it finally!
