Over the moon, my jack is here!

photo:01

Had wanted to punch some letters on it but recommended not to so I punched them on some other tag~

photo:02

It could mean Fred Phua Van Liu but it could also mean Fred Pan pan Van Lappy. Must be predestined for us to meet the two fellows~

Sunset last Sunday was so pretty!

photo:03

Yea, gonna be able to give them a good big hug soon!!!!

It's getting warmer and OMG summer is coming. The heat from the sun is even more scorching than in SG.

Flowers arrangement outside Takashimaya.

There's a dog in my bag.

photo:03

Made a sake bottle and cup for the German restaurant's 店長. And he really like them. Glassware are perfect for summer!

photo:04

Fred and I went shopping today and I bought a bag I think i really love!

photo:05

The second one from the left. Handmade in Kenya. I know the people who made it are probably paid very little and are being exploited but I really love things that are handmade. Authentic leather and the middle part of the bag is made from tree bark. The dye printed inner lining is also interesting~

I have also order a tool for glass blowing called the Jack from US.
It's gonna leave a hole in my pocket but.... it's time to own one.

Pretty exciting news, a Mexican artist will be coming to Seto city, Aichi prefecture as an artist in residence to a ceramic and glass centre. I will be assisting him in his work and besides being able to learn from him, I will be paid! That's like killing 2 birds with 1 stone~

More updates to come~

Today we went out to buy some painting materials made for glass.

At the back of that place was a huge cage and inside was a German shepherd.

photo:02

It was my first close contact with a GS. She was big, strong but so gentle. Dogs are just so mesmerising.

And then we went to a store that sells practically anything. At the books section, I picked up a "costume of the world" picture book.

photo:03

The African beads work, European embroidery, China tribes' accessories, LOVE IT!!

And then there were Thai, Nepal traditional costume and I saw this:

At the bottom right, it says Singapore.
What the!!
CCA Chinese dance la!! My guess~

Another topic, I am listening to Alicia keys songs lately and it made my think of Fred. So I took out some little money and bought him things I know he will like!!

They are:

He will be overjoyed!!
And I will be too cos' he will definitely share them with me~

Chef again, shared with me his recipe for curry chicken. I just knew Fred would love it cos his version is pretty close to the one in Singapore.

photo:01

It was easy to make but you need a lot of spices! He made the spice mixture and let me bring it home.

photo:02

It was CURRY! Taste good but different from his.

But well, at least I can say I have another recipe added to my "able to cook list"

The building where the japanese language school I attended for a year is located in, is being demolished at the moment. A new and nicer building will rise in the near future.

Like the old stepping down and new blood coming up.

Anyways, yesterday's weather was so good that you could see a mountain that looks like Mount Fuji in the distant.
Left side of the photo.
photo:04

It's a relatively famous mountain in the Nagano and it was the first time I saw it.

Oh yes, there was this line on the Disney on Ice commercial.
Direct translation:
"If it's first time you are going to Disney on Ice, it has to be this year"

So i casually told Fred "They say that line, shall we go?"
and he says "Every year they also say the same thing but let's go"

The show is still faraway, end of July~ Can't wait because my favourite Toy story characters will be performing as well, and only in Japan~

Today is the first day we returned to school for orientation and health checkup.

This would be the last time I see the bloomed sakura in school.

Van.liu

We had the entrance ceremony 2 springs ago, inside that building.

It feels like yesterday.

First day without Fred in school.

Van.liu

Kind of different...

Decided to go see sakura and buy some groceries on the way.

Falling sakura is really beautiful.

Like snow in spring....

This tree was just 2% bloom 6 days ago and today, OMG it's full bloom.

Like brother like sister, Fred's sister bought me this from Kyoto.
BTW Fred bought me that during our courtship. ドキドキ

photo:02

I have no more photos to share for this week but this was my lunch today.
However, I couldn't tahan the hunger, so I did have a proper late lunch in the end.

Went to GEN exhibition in Tokyo recently.

It is a glass exhibition for students all around Japan.

Here are some pictures.

Yesterday was the graduation ceremony.

So I have officially graduated in the eyes on the school.

But I will be continuing my final year as a research student with the glass course this coming April.

Female in either dress or Hakama.

Van.liu

And guys in suits.

Van.liu

Weather has turned mild. Cooling and most of the sakura trees are budding at the moment.

Van.liu

Fred's sister and her soon-to-be-husband joined us this spring as well.

Van.liu

We brought them to our fav. restaurant that specialise in chicken.

Van.liu

Saw the smallest Chihuahua ever.

Can't say it's the cutest because Lappy is the cutest in my eye!
But this little one was sooooo cute.

Van.liu

Many other doggies were seen too.

Van.liu

All eyes on this

Van.liu

Pretty exotic as a pet but definitely not as strange as this.

WTH? It's so inhumane to keep a 4 year old swan

in such a small and shallow pond.

I am sending this photo to some animal rights activists groups.

Disturbing.

On the other hand, the good thing about Japan is the post-service. The strap of the watch which Fred bought for me 4 years ago broke so I sent them an email to see what they could do. They told me if I am ok with the replacement fee of 2100yen, I can send the watch back to them and they will bear the full postage cost.

I am more than willing to pay for the new strap since I like this watch a lot.

So from now, it would be intense part time before school starts in the second week of April.

Cream stew is one of my favourite dishes made by the chef at the German restaurant and he was kind enough to write me the recipe and step by step of the making.

Yummy !!

Yesterday mum and I visited Kyoto~ Weather was a degree or two higher than Nagoya, just nice for mum.

photo:01

I highly recommend visiting this temple where 1001 bodhisattva are enshrined.
It's not like any other temples I have visited by far. Pretty magnificent.

photo:02

Photo taking is not allowed so can't show you how spectacular the inside was.

After that we walked to the shopping streets at Shijo. Along the way~

photo:07

And I had to have this strawberry tart at the LIPTON TEA HOUSE. The shop wasn't the same as how it was 6 years ago but the cakes they serve we're still the same~ Not super super fantastic but just what Fred and I used to go and eat when we are in Kyoto~

Glass course's end-of-the-semester party! Eiko, the girl beside me is from Chong Qing, needless to say we get along well together. And that's my glass blowing teacher, Tsusaka San.

Mum was lucky to be able to see snow in Nagoya!! That was the third snow, this winter.

photo:03

Outside the hotel we stayed in at Tokyo. It's called Italian street so the buildings were pretty Italian style.

Light stick sticking out of mum's head~

The only show i enjoyed the most at Disneysea was the mermaid one.

photo:06

I think I know why Duffy and shellieMay can only be bought at Disneysea. Buying them is like one of the MAIN attractions since there were
really nothing too exciting in there.

Day trip to Kyoto this Friday~ There's a bodhisattva temple I want to visit~
And also a cake shop called Lipton tea house~
