I have just gotten a 2nd/3rd hand bicycle from a Canadian

who is leaving next week.... He lives upstairs....

Fred got a new one from BIC CAMERA...

Bicycle is such a necessity here...

We use it for grocery shopping,

i think we will be using it to travel to nearby places very soon....

My friend, jenny is right to say that I am using japanese-english now...

I am constructing english sentence in the japanese grammer way.....

Fred has the same sentiments too....

He say's he's english is getting bad... haha

Something which i enjoy doing : RUBBISH SORTING

Singapore is super environmental unfriendly

despite all the GO-GREEN awareness campaigns

Waste of effort...

In Japan, every household has to separate

BURNABLE and NON-BURNABLE garbage...

You put them in specified plastic bags....

RED for burnable

Green for Non burnable

It's troublesome but i enjoy it... It makes me feel like I am

doing my part for a better environment...

There is another bag for Recyclable material :

cans, glass bottle, plastic bottle....

Not only that, they have Garbage COLLECTION DAY ...

Monday & Thursday for burnable,

Friday for non burnable

And many other different days for different rubbish....

For eg, certain days of the month, they will collect magazines, corrugated board....

Japanese like Flowers?

It seems so,

majority of the households place flower pots infront of their house....

Plus there are many florist shops around...

I bought a tomato plant 3 weeks ago and it's has sprouted

and is still growing well ...

I have also planted flowers !

Bought soil, pot and 4 different species of flower.....

They should be healthy still.... They have bloomed...

This plant below came with a single flower bud and it has grown some more buds already....

Flowers and plants make one happy

When i go back for holiday, I will entrust them to the apartment managment people !

Weekend Post !

Good day to you (^∇^)

We have planned to go Osu Kannon temple today,

so i took the bottle of ¥1 coins along just before we left....

It was meant to be donated so I told fred - let's come to this temple everytime the bottle is full....

What a new idea and great thing to do ! Seriously !

When we were done with praying, we saw Nick feeding PIGEONS... You pay 50 yen for a plate of seeds.... It was fun ! I didn't realize that pigeons are cute before !

Felt good when you can give!

Sho introduced to us Taiwanese food...
fried chicken & pan fried bun...
Super delicious.... Have to have it the next time we go....

Fashionable accessories now -
bendable hair band, it's about 45cm long, can be twisted into any design you want...
Wearing it makes you look like a rabbit to me ....

So is light denim and ah ma days' fabric... That tiny tiny flowers....

Stepped into a unique shop who does hand made accessories....

We were looking at the watches when the very friendly shop owner came to talk to us.... He's good looking !

I like one of the watches, it similar to the one I posted in the previous post, more expensive though.... If I have the money.......

Fred bought a watch which he thinks he like it a lot.... Service does matters !

travel on the track above the sushi conveyor belt...

And you press the button beside the screen to send the train back.... haha...

DINNER AT A BAR THE OTHER DAY...

Ha-chan & Shoo came to Nagoya during Golden week (*^▽^*)

By bus to Osaka cost around 4000yen 2 ways...

it takes 3 hours but i think i do not mind....

So much cheaper than taking bullet train which cost around $120 SGD,

( but it's only an hour )

Coming home in June !

Decided to come back in June for
10 days.
That would be about 10 weeks I have been away
from home... Not too long a period but I am feeling very excited !

Had our first exam yesterday, received some of
the results today...
Was not too much a surprise....

Listening ; 60/100 ( expected )
Grammer ; 81/100 ( expected )
漢字 ; 48/50 ( always good at it :D )
Speaking ; まだ知りません
小論文 ; まだ知りません

Back to study !

Finally signed up for such online service...
And why a Japanese one... it should be possible to send posts

by using the Japanese handphone.. But I have yet to try to understand

how to do it...

It's slightly more than a month we are here...
I'm happy to say that going to lessons is more with ease than the

first lesson...
あの日全然わからないね。。。

Grammer, written work is fine but we are still weak at listening and

speaking...

They say it takes at least 3-6 months to get use to the language...

5 weeks have passed and we are seeing improvements already...

So they can't be wrong, I hope...

And everyday we have 漢字 quiz... Traditional Chinese is fresh..

It's not too difficult to understand the meaning but writing the

characters is troublesome...

。。。

And interesting kanji which does not relate anything at all to the

Chinese we have learned ;

求人 - kyuu jin means employment
面白い - omoshiroi means interesting
大変 - taihen means troublesome
蛇口 - jyaguchi refers to the tap opening
勉強 - benkyoo means study
夢中 - muchuu means be engrossed
我慢 - gaman means patience
大丈夫 - daijoobu means it's ok

Funny combinations !
But it's explainable in our own way when broken down to individual word... 面白いですね。

And a new word I just read from the book; じゃま よ - jyama yo
It means hindrance / obstacle

You can use this word when anything comes in your way...

It's a good word to use on fred.. Nice !
