洋楽を100曲和訳して理解を深めて歌おうぜ～第3弾
マイケル・ジャクソンさんのHEAL THE WORLD。
最初に意味など知らぬままこの曲を聴いたときは「なんと切ない、悲しい…でも優しい、希望にあふれた歌だろう」と思いました。
和訳をしてみてあながち間違ってはいなかったものの、己の小ささというか…確実に「私にはなかったモノ」がそこに生まれました。
この曲はマイケル・ジャクソンさんのお気に入りの一つだそうで、人々の心の中にずっと生き続けてほしいと願ってる曲だそうです。そして「残りの人生で一曲しかパフォーマンス出来ないとしたらどの曲を選ぶ？」という質問に対してこの「HEAL THE WORLD」を選んだそうです。彼はもうこの世にはいませんが、この歌の歌詞にあるとおりマイケル・ジャクソンさんの魂、願いは不滅です。
世界の頂点に立った彼だからこそ見えた様々な世界…マイケル・ジャクソンさんとは違う立場である私たちも出来ることはあるんですね。
