以前にも書きましたが、多くの学校のLLMでは、TOEFLの足切りスコアをPBT600=CBT250=iBT100としています。
しかし、各校（私の志望校だけですが）のサイトを見てみると、そうではないところもいくつかあるようなので、（日本で受験するのが現実的な）iBTでいくら必要か、そして足りない場合はどうなるのか、についての記述を拾ってみました。

University of California Berkeley: The minimum score required by the university is 68 on the internet based test (IBT). Because of the extensive reading necessary to complete the advanced law degree programs, the law school prefers to admit applicants whose TOEFL scores are above the minimum.
※低い。ここはPBTで570、CBTで230と、全体に低め。しかも絶対条件ではないと断っている（しかしもちろん、ランキング上位校であるから、決して合格しやすいというわけではない）。iBTはCornellより低いのにPBTとCBTはCornellより高いのが興味深い。
University of California Davis: Applicants should have a TOEFL iBT score of 88-89
※ここはPBTで570、CBTで230と、全体に低め（PBTとCBTはUC Berkeleyと同じ）。
University of California Los Angels: A TOEFL score of 96 on the Internet-based test is the minimum score accepted by the University's Graduate Division. The Law School usually admits only applicants whose TOEFL scores are well above the minimum range required by the University. In general we expect a score of 100 on the Internet-based test, although an outstanding applicant with a slightly lower test score will not be disqualified on this basis.
※要するに、96は絶対条件ということと思われる。PBTで500、CBTで243。

Boston University: a minimum total score of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL, with subscores of 25 (reading), 25 (listening), 25 (writing) and 23 (speaking) are generally required and most admitted LL.M. applicants have substantially higher scores. If you scored below 100 on TOEFL, but are otherwise qualified, you may still apply, but we may ask you to re-take TOEFL. In that case, we will hold off on making an admissions decision until we receive a higher score.
※100といいながらSは少し下がっている。
Cornell University: A minimum overall TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based) is required to be considered for admission. Accepted applicants whose TOEFL scores are between 79 and 100 (Internetbased) must take the English placement test given at Cornell during registration week. If the placement score indicates that you need additional formal training in English, a course will be required during the first semester.
※ここはPBTで550、CBTで213と、全体に低め。iBTはUC Berkeleyより高いのにPBTとCBTはUC Berkeleyより低いのが興味深い。
University of Pennsylvania: We do not set a minimum requirement for the score; however, Penn Law generally looks for a TOEFL score of at least 100 (IBT). We have, however, made exceptions depending on the other strengths and specific circumstances of particular applicants, and therefore a lower score does not automatically preclude an applicant from consideration for Penn Law's LLM program.

Geroge Washington University: attain a score in the 600-point range (paper-based) or 250-point range (computer-based) to be considered for admission at the Law School. This is a mandatory requirement. ※iBTについて記載がない。絶対条件だと断っている。
University of Virginia: the minimum scores are: iBT TOEFL: Writing: 22 Speaking: 22 Reading: 23 Listening: 23
※単純計算すれば90になる。
Duke University: Students admitted to graduate study normally have scores of at least 100 on the Internet-based test.
※"normally have"と"at least"の関係をどのように読むか。希望的観測としては、前者に力点を置いて読みたい。
Vanderbilt University: Proficiency in English is a prerequisite for the LL.M. program. If your native language is not English, you must take the Test of English a a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
※足切りスコアについて記載がない。
Washington University in St. Louis: You must possess a TOEFL score of 100 on the iBT
※"must"と言っている。
この中で、注目すべきは、VirginiaとUC Berkeleyでしょう。
Virginiaは、PBTとCBTはそれぞれ600と250とふつうなのに、iBTは低くなっています。
UC Berkeleyは、PBTとCBTはそれぞれ570と230で、これをETSの換算表
にあてはめるとiBTは88-89になるはず（UC Davisがまさにそう）ですが、それよりも低くなっています。
これらの事実は、TOEFL受験生の間でささやかれる「iBTはPBTやCBTより難しい。」（より正確には、「ETSの換算表はあてにならない。」と言うべきだと思いますが）といううわさを裏づける恰好となっています。
もちろん、これらのことは、うんと高いスコアをお持ちの方にはどうでもよい話ですが、恥ずかしながら私のようにギリギリのスコアの人間には切実な問題なのであります。
なので、こんなことやってるひまがあったら勉強しろ！というご批判はしごくごもっともですが、いちどまとめておきたいと思ったのでした。
