Arao river
My family gave me a time for fishing.
It was my first fishing trip to Arao River. But I realized I'd been to Onikobe while driving, though I forgot about it...
Lucky for me to get there within 2.5-hour drive from parents-in-low's house.
Harvest time is almost there.
Getting cooler, it was sunny but not that hot this week.
A flyfisherman just caught a fish under a bridge.
Good news!
It was harder than expected to find the way down to the river due to the high riverbank and deep bushes.
Long-horned beetle that bumped into me and a dragonfly on my rod.
She was the second Yamame trout for me, small but a beauty.
(The first one happened to be released before taking a picture.)
In the day time, the river had very limited shady and trouts reacted well to my flies(baetis, stimulator and x-caddis) there.
Iwana trout that I was longing for!! (This was my second one. Frst Iwana also run away before taking photo...). About 27cm.
This was the 3rd Iwana trout(26cm). Little darker skinned than 2nd one. Too big landing net... It's not cool but we have to be ready for huge rainbows in the Arao, don't we?
I struggled to identify what they ate in the evening. Or there might be a problem how to drift flies.
I would like go back to Arao in the near future,,, might be this weekend.
Kanogawa
I just wanted to see big Amago here.
Various birds were looking for something yummy.
Big mayflies were there, rises were few though. I like its light green of wings.
Its color of wings was different from previous one's. Male and female?
Rises of big ones were quite sporadic, even in the evening.
My flies were attacked by small ones but they couldn't bite them. I was too greedy?
