Overwhelmingly gigantic magnum opus that fell and lost somewhere in between romanticism and ressentiment, and later has needed some psychological mending by Sigmund Freud. Mahler's #3 symphony is known to this day as a musical allegory of Friedrich Nietzsche's overman concept just as its contemporary Richard Strauss' Thus Spoke Zarathustra in this case the title directly referees to Nietzsche's work. As a listener of 21st Century what is the right attitude to the kind of music that those elements are dissolved? Or is this just another piece of classics only meant to be there as a collectors item for fanatic ears?
ニーチェの時代、ロマン派の枠の内側からまるで神へのルサンチマンといわんばかりに大掛かりな交響曲を鳴動し、果たしてその果てには仏の掌の譬喻のような、或いは大地鳴動して鼠一匹のようなコーダを閉じたのか。相変わらず歌舞伎の見栄のように顎を突き出し満足げな大植マエストロもさすがにマラ３の後に具体的な言葉は発しなかった。ただ史実として、この時既にニーチェは発狂し、後にマーラーは（精神科医としての）フロイドに掛かるのだが、それに引き換えオレも、それどころかマエストロも、とっくにマーラーの生涯すら超えてまだこれからももう暫く生き続け、聴き続け、意味を求めて彷徨う。
