Time flows in linear manner and as time goes by people gets old, so as Quentin Tarantino. To some extent his amateurism found in his early films was favored but as he's gotten matured it somewhat devoured by his age and snobbish smart ass intelligence took over. Still, the film has a lot of his signature moments and which are, of course, very enjoyable, and all star casts such as Leonard DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz along with Jamie Foxx the Django are doing excellent on the silver screen. However, everybody fits to their roles too perfectly and every moment are shot too perfect that you feel like you don't even need to go see it in the theater. Plus way over two and half hours playing time is a bit too long to me. Watching movies at one of those cinema complexes should be neither sitting in the class to making up some serious-esque questions nor going to the church to listen to grimacing pastor's sermon but just a pass time. I almost felt like this movie was rated OIR or overwhelming intellect required.
時が流れるとあたりまえやけど人は老ける。老けるというのはアマチュアがアマチュアでなくなってゆく事でもある。それはある視点からは良いことかもしれないしまたある視点からは退屈なだけかも知らん。
彼がハリウッドに招いたクリストフ・ワルツはじめサミュエル・L・ジャクソンそしてレオナルド・デカプリオと素晴らしい配役で固めたジャンゴ（ジェイミー・フォックス）がかっこよくないわけが無いし、相変わらずそのオーバーな演出と（シネフィルには）ある意味わかり易すぎる引用が鼻につくタランティーノ節も全開で眠くなる暇もなく楽しめる映画にはなっている。しかし見終えて得るところの妙にしっくりとしたカタルシスが逆に空虚で、しかもそれについて何が原因なのか考えたり、あるいは時にまるでアルトマンの映画のように気の利いた疑問や発見を要求されたような気分に置かされてしまう。最近そういう映画はもうたくさんという気分。似非インテリジェンスももうたくさん。こうなるとその一歩手前の危うい領域に奇跡的にとどまっていたタランティーノ初期の商業作が実はとても良い映画やったんちゃうかという疑念すら生まれる。
