About Momoko
Born 1982 in Tokyo and has grown up in Kumamoto.
She is a hand knitter and learned needlework in the three sewing factories in Japan, after 3 years experience she worked as an apparel associate.
Momoko moved to Paris in 2007, and found her job with Ultramod after reading about the mercerie in the Figaro Japon magazine,working and learning
French and the business simultaneously here during 8 years,she often met many designers,craftmans and tourists from different nationalities.
First pop up shop in Tokyo 2012, started working with Damien and they still continue to knit together.
She went back to Japan for learning linking technique from a japanese knitting factory in Niigata the most famous area for knitwear made in Japan and learned with a skilled linking technician who makes samples for japanese apparel brands.
In 2015 she left Paris for Britanny, she is working as a linking
technician for making samples and prototyping mainly for high-end knitted apparel, learning all process needed for top quality products, also finishing and quality control.
Her journey from Japan to France opened her mind for two different visions to work.
Momoko is also interpreter during Paris fashion weeks for a well known japanese buyer since 2014.
All those experiences provides Momoko a large view of the step from sample to sells.
1982年東京生まれ、熊本育ち。
３つの日本の縫製工場で縫製技術を３年間学んだ後、アパレル販売を経験する。
2007年パリに発ち、フィガロジャポンの記事を読んで見つけた老舗手芸店ウルトラモッドに履歴書を送りフランス語を学びながら８年間働く。ここで様々な国籍のデザイナー、職人、観光客に出逢う。
2012年東京で初作品展、ニットプログラマーであるダミアンと共同でニット製作を始める。
2015年日本製ニットの産地である新潟五泉市にてスキルの高いリンキング技術者の指導の下で研修、
パリを離れ現在、ノルマンディー地方のフランス某ニットメーカーにてリンキング縫製技術者としてパリコレクション、ショールームのニットサンプル製作や製品の仕上げ作業、品質管理に携わっている。
日本製とフランス製両方の技術、生産工程を学んだ経験から二つの視点を持つようになる。2014年から現在までパリファッションウィーク時期のバイヤーアテンド業を通し、クリエーション、サンプルから流通に至るまでの視野がさらに大きく広がる。
