中学生の頃から、USのR&B に興味を持ち始め、Mary J. Blige,Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Monica 等当時のR&Bを代表するアーティストに憧れる。高校卒業後、L.A へ留学。帰国後、ビクター傘下のインディーズレーベルより別名でデビュー、オリジナルアルバムを2枚リリース後、活動を停止。その後、Pharrell Williams(The Neptunes/N.E.R.D)×NIGO主催のオーディション"STAR BAPE SEARCH"に応募、ファイナリスト6名に選ばれる。
現在は、国内外のアーティストからのコラボレーションオファーにも積極的に参加し、徐々に活躍の場を広げている。
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Ucca-Laugh began singing as a child to various American styles such as Opera and Classical. At age 14, Ucca got her first taste of American R&B and Hip-Hop. Heavily influenced by Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill, Ucca began to peruse Hip-Hip throughout high school. Upon graduation, Ucca studied abroad to Los Angles, where again she was inspired by the new music and culture of Los Angles.
At 20-years-old, Ucca returned to Tokyo focused on perusing a career in music. Straying clear of main stream music executives, Ucca began searching for her musical roots. Nominated as a finalist for the “Star Bape Search” led by Nigo and Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes and NERD, Ucca-Laugh is now making her own way as a successful singer performing all over the globe in Tokyo, Atlanta and even New York City.
