Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Acer Laptop Battery
Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and Cleantech Ventures have invested in technology start-up Smart Storage Pty Ltd to develop and commercialize battery-based storage solutions for renewable energy.
The Smart Storage battery is an attempt to solve the current shortcomings in battery storage solutions for renewables. The new technology is a hybrid battery that combines an asymmetric supercapacitor electrode and a lead-acid battery such as Acer BTP-550P Battery , Acer BTP-73E1 Battery , Acer BATCL50L Battery , Acer TravelMate 290 Battery , Acer TravelMate 4000 Battery , Acer TravelMate 2300 Battery , Acer Aspire 1680 Battery , Acer Aspire 1410 Battery , Acer TravelMate 4500 Battery , Acer LCBTP03003 Battery in a single unit cell. It is expected that the discharge and charge power of the Smart Storage battery will be 50 percent higher and its cycle-life at least three times longer than that of the conventional lead-acid counterpart.
"Most importantly, our technology development path is directed towards manufacturing in existing lead-acid battery plants," said Andrew Pickering, a Principal at Cleantech Ventures. "Too often new technologies simply aren't affordable and that significantly retards market uptake."
Before the material can be used commercially, the manufacturing process needs to be made less expensive, and a few other modifications will likely be necessary, Ceder said.
Other potential applications for the new lithium battery include power tools, electric bikes, and power backup for renewable energy sources.
The lead author on the research paper is Kisuk Kang, a graduate student in Ceder's lab. Ying Shirley Meng, a postdoctoral associate in materials science and engineering at MIT, and Julien Breger and Clare P. Grey of the State University of New York at Stony Brook are also authors on the paper.
The research was funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.
