Madonna hasn’t lived in the duplex at 41 Central
Park West for about four years. So the entertainer clearly wasn’t very
attached to it when she put it up for sale six months ago for $23.5
million.
After getting no immediate bites on the place, the Material Girl seemed to be washing her hands of it when she lowered the price to $19.95 million.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that Madonna ended up taking a very low ball offer of $16 million for the 14-room duplex.

Madonna
first bought the crash pad in the Harperly Hall building in the 1980s
during her first marriage to actor Sean Penn. She subsequently bought an
adjoining apartment and created a two-story duplex.
The
54-year-old Grammy winner has many homes but now mainly lives in the
Upper East Side of Manhattan with her boyfriend Brahim Zaibat and her
four children from various relationships.
The just sold duplex was renovated by Madonna’s younger brother, Christopher G. Giccone, and featured in Architectural Digest.

in the building, long tired of the loud parties and paparazzi hanging
by the entrance, were evidently relieved when Madonna left.
But they’re not getting rid of her so quickly.
In
2008, Madonna snapped up a separate seventh-floor unit in Harperly Hall
in 2008 for $7.35 which she still owns and which was not included in
this transaction.
