TOKYO X CREATIVES
"東京 X クリエイティブ"は、普段巡り会えない様なメインストリームから離れ、個々で確立した文化を発信し続ける東京のクリエイター達に焦点を当てた、短編ドキュメンタリーのシリーズです。
Episode 1 - UAMOU
高木綾子によるUAMOUは、ただのデザイントイのスタジオではなく、
創造への愛情が、東京都台東区という地域に密着したファミリービジネスへと成長した、ひとつの夢である』
これまでに撮影された5時間以上にも及ぶ映像は、音響、色補正、翻訳などの編集を経て、
世界を牽引するのソフビ玩具デザイナーの一人である彼女の生き方と、
彼女のスタジオを垣間見ることが出来る、約20分の今までにないドキュメンタリー映像として完成させます！
ニコについて
映像監督、ニコ ランズイシ。東京ヴィジュアルアーツ映像化卒業の後、学生ビザ失効を経てオランダへ帰国。 現在、アムステルダムにあるラージトスティスタジオの片隅で予備のコンピュータで活動中。
この映像は私の日本での滞在についてではなく、東京に住むクリエイティブな人々と、 彼らを創造へと駆り立てる根源となる"何か"を追ったものです私は普段はカメラの前には絶対に立ちません！

TOKYO X CREATIVES
A series of short documentary films showing aspects of Tokyo's creative culture that usually remain inaccessible to those outside of the respective scenes, especially if they don't speak the language.
For those who want a more in depth look at modern Japanese culture. Material that goes beyond the usual otaku cliches or cheap 'JAPAN YOU SO CRAZY' style reporting.

UAMOU by designer & artist Ayako Takagi is not just a toy design studio, but a dream grown from a love of creating into a family business, well integrated into the Taito neighborhood.
Over 5 hours of footage have been shot that need editing, sound mixing, colour correction and translation to become a roughly 20 minute documentary giving an unprecedented look into the studio and life of one of the world's leading vinyl toy designers.
About me:
Niko Lanzuisi. A recent film graduate from Tokyo Visual Arts, my student visa ran out so now I'm back in Amsterdam using the spare computer at the Largetosti studio.
This is not a film about me being in Japan, I usually do whatever I can not to be the guy in front of the camera. It's about creative people living in Tokyo and exploring what it is that compels them to make their work.
What you'll be funding is time for me to do this material justice, getting the monkeys off my back for long enough to edit this piece into the best work it can be.
Budget:
What you're funding here is basically keeping me alive long enough to edit this material for great justice. If you really need a breakdown, here you go:
€ 500,- rent
€ 200,- protection money
€ 100,- whisky
€ 180,- cigarettes
€ 20,- ramen
Stretch Goals:
Not eating ramen every day
If I can buy enough time, then it'll be spent on editing and translating bonus material.
The funding goal has been set to the bare minimum for me to survive, so anything extra is greatly appreciated.
What's next?
This material will be freely available to view online. Getting it out there and getting it seen is what I care about most, but obviously I also like to eat.
This is an experiment to see if this is a viable model for producing this kind of content. I think the demand is there. If this succeeds (aka we get funded and I don't starve) there are 2 more TOKYO X CREATIVES episodes already in the can waiting their turn in the editing pipeline, you can see the teaser trailers here:
