I liked how the author incorporated different research findings to back up her claims but I wasn't a fan of the vibe that radiated from her writing. Writing about (fighting for) what you consider to be a minority group is always tricky. I frequently come across writers who, despite having the best of intentions, ultimately come across as patronizing. Unfortunately, this book was one of them. She appeared generally insensitive to the fact that women of different social classes and races do not view the world through her "white, educated, and middle-class" lens.
I was really excited to read this book after reading some of the reviews but I don't think the book lived up to the hype.
