先日FBに投稿した記事ですが・・・結構身内では盛り上がった内容なのでこちらにも転載。

なんでよ。。。。コミュニケーションツールとしての英語スキルは
ワードやエクセル的基本のレベルとして肉体労働系以外の仕事なら
ば必要になってくるでしょうけど、なんでみんな無関心なんでしょ
うかねぇ。実はうちの会社、経費でネイティブ先生に来てもらって
いるのに、入居者の方達ならともかく、社員さえも日々の生活、例
えばルミネでのお買い物を優先。で、何もやることが無くて、かつ
レッスンが行われる近くのカフェに出向く気力が残っている場合に
のみレッスンに参加するかも、な感じ。若い彼等は自分の将来につ
いて不安はないのかな。そのあたりを彼等に是非とも聞きたい。韓
国や中国の子はその時間には必死にレッスンを受けて自分の将来に
時間を投資しているというのに。・・・・・映画のタイトル「いま
そこにある危機」思い出しちゃいます。

Blimey!!Even though English communication skills is... now and then going to be a basic skill like Excel or Word functioning for a person who works in a office, how come not only the tenants of our guest house but also even my staff can be so apathetic about learning English? Aren't they interested in their career or anxious about their future? Even thought they are offered the opportunity of learning English by native teachers at the company's expense, They give priority to shopping for new boots rather than spending time at the class, They say that they might attend only if they have nothing to do and still have energy left to leave their houses and join the lesson given at the cafe near by. Although meanwhile Korean or Chinese girls in the same houses are aggressively investing their times and energy in to their future . My staffs are at reast, quite smart.In fact,they are much smarter than me. For this reason,I would like nothing better than to understand their mentality. I hope they are aware of the fact that company in general doesn't last for ever. It is said that the average duration of life of the company is 15-30 years. So is this what a company is supposed to be like?
It reminds me of the title of a film 'Clear and Present Danger'.....
