Japan plans to build the Autoflow-Road, a 310-mile network of automated conveyor belts between Tokyo and Osaka.
This high-tech system aims to replace the work of 25,000 truck drivers daily, addressing the delivery driver shortage and increasing freight demands.
Operating 24/7, it will use tunnels, median strips, and hard shoulders for efficient cargo transport, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The initiative also aims to improve logistics efficiency and environmental impact, with potential to meet future freight demands despite a projected driver shortfall.
