本ブログで読み進めていく予定である市河三喜『聖書の英語』はAuthorized Versionいわゆる欽定訳に拠っています。
そこで、ここでは戦前から長く英文学者として活躍した斎藤勇東京帝国大学名誉教授・国際基督教大学名誉教授（さいとうたけし 1887年2月3日〜1982年7月4日）が著書『文學としての聖書』（研究社、昭和十九年二月五日初版）の中でAuthorized Version 欽定訳の特徴を詳しく論じていますので、それを簡単に振り返っておきましょう。
その前に先ず、Authorized Version 欽定訳とはそもそも何か？ということですが、Google AIのGeminiで検索した結果を要約すると次のようになります。
