今日は七夕ですね！関東では雨が降っていて天の川が氾濫してそうですが、秋田ではきれいな星空が広がっています！ というわけで、通訳ガイド対策として笑、七夕を英語で説明してみます。
July 7 is the day of Tanabata, which means the Star Festival. This festival is based on a Chinese legend about the stars Hikoboshi(Altair of the Eagle) and Orihime(Vegar of the Lyre), a harmonious couple separated by the Milky Way, who cross the river and meet once a year on that day.
It is customary for people to write their wishes on strips of paper in five colors, hang them on branches of bamboo trees and put them out by the eaves of their homes.
七夕祭りとしては仙台のものが有名なのではないでしょうか？開催は8月ですが笑
一度東北のお祭めぐりを在学中にしてみたいです！実は竿燈まつりにも参加したことがなく……AIU生失格でしょうか？笑
