Today, when I was sitting on a bench and having a lunch, I noticed something red moving on a leaf of agave. Judging from its movement, I realized that the bug is jumping spider. Because I have never seen jumping spider having such a color, like a ladybug, I got close to it.
Although it escaped into the back of leaf because of my approaching, by poking with a stick gently, it easily come out from the space. At this time, it threatened me with showing its metallic-colored fangs. In contrast to other jumping spiders I have ever seen, this jumping spider walk around on a leaf without jumping. In addition to it, the size is big. So, it’s easy to catch.

And then, I found the picture of spider of same species on some web sites. The name is Red backed jumping spider. According to Wiki, the individual I saw was female (having black stripe), and the male has abdomen whose dorsal side is all red color.

Relate to spider, some web site mentioned that there are (near San Diego county) poisonous spider (e.g. Black widow, Brown widow and Recluse spider). I have to be careful about these species.
