ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) -- UBS AG said Wednesday it expects a record loss for the fourth quarter, largely as a result of $14 billion of writedowns on bad investments in U.S. subprime mortgages.
Switzerland's largest bank said the fourth-quarter net loss will amount to around 12.5 billion francs ($11.45 billion; 7.75 billion euros).スイスのUBS銀行がサブプライム債権の評価損１４０億ドルにより、第４四半期は約１１５億ドルの損失を計上する。（第３四半期は７億1200万ドルの損失だった）
Shares in UBS fell 1.32 percent to $42.31 in Zurich trading.

UBS said in December that it had around $29 billion in subprime holdings. The bank did not provide an update on its holdings Wednesday.
