There are two city electrical trams line. One of orbit line running to Iwase coast from Toyama Station's north side(PORTRAM).  Others runs in the area of Toyama Station's south side(Toyama City Tram Line). It is a hub for traffic to move about the Toyama City metro area. Those trams are operated frequently every day. Trams is running at 5-10 minute intervals in case of main line, and 10-15 minute intervals in case of loop line and PORTRAM. The train starts early from about 6:00 a.m. and running until half past 10 p.m. The fare is a set fee of 200 yen for the PORTRAM, also both of the south Toyama City street cars cost an economical 200 yen. When getting off the tram, put the fare into the fare box by the exiting doorway. If you have only bills, there is a changemaker on the vehicle next to the fare box. Please be sure to enter the correct amount of 200 yen and watch your step exiting the train.

Some explanation about the Toyama City track line in detail. The Streetcar operating from Toyama Station's south side is on a line that makes a round trip to the south, stopping in front of Toyama University. Various types of trains run on this track. There is a special train with a classic interior decoration style named The Nostalgic Train it is decorated with a lot of hardwood. The other line heads around the Toyama City suburbs, counterclockwise. This route is operating the newest type of streetcar, it is a train named the CENTRAM and is quite famous in the city. The height of the floor is nice and low, it is easy for getting on and operation is comfortable because it is quiet with little vibration.



There are various tourist attractions near the Toyama City track line. There are the Toyama Casle ruins along with a Castle Park, please get off at  the Marunouchi Station. Here you can find Toyama Castle and the Sato Memory Museum(Sato-Kinen-Bijutsukan) near the ruins of the Castle Park. The castle found here is a recreation of the original castle that was previously destroyed. Inside there is a history museum. The Toyama Castle comes to life from learning the history about the Toyama Castle. In Sato Memory Museum there is abundant Oriental art (pictures, and handwriting known as "Bokuseki") We can enjoy powdered green tea in the tea-ceremony room where art is displayed. There is also a Matsukawa pleasure boat platform located in the castle park. You can really enjoy this boat ride when cherry blossoms bloom in the spring, It is a good time to enjoy very pure and serene scenery. There is the Toyama City Hall when heading down the Matsukawa. There is an observatory which commands a good overlook of the city. It is open to the public, please take the elevator at the bottom the Toyama City Hall to the top floor.

Arrive in front of the large building with the glass roof called Grand Plaza when getting off at the Grand Plaza-mae Station. There are various events held here, One may come across some events if going. Located just through Grand Plaza is Sogawa Street. Sogawa Street is a type of mall, with various shops in a line. Also, you can enjoy shopping regardless of weather because it is roofed and protected from the elements.


There is the Ikedaya Yasubei Shōten, a long-established cakestore and a salmon sushi specialty named Masu-no-Sushi, it is close when I get off at the Nishicho Station. There is a large shop selling medicine of traditional origins. This shop named Ikedaya Yasubei Shōten sells a lot of things and we can eat dishes prepared with medicinal herbs. (The dish is made with a recipe that is healthy for one's body). In addition, in Aj-no-Sasayoshi, a shop up the street, you can experience making Masu-no-Sushi. You can look at articles for further details about the destinations.



In addition, there are tourist attractions near the PORTRAM. Get off the station at Keirinjōmae Station and walk a little ways, go to Iwase Town. A lot of traditional cityscapes can be viewed in Iwase Town. Kitamaesen Kaisen Tonya MORIKE is a representative building of the old houses in Iwase. There is also a Toyamakō Observation Towers on the outskirts of the town that you can watch the view around the coastline from an observatory. You can also go to the Iwase beach if you get off at the Iwasehama Station.
