Well-Being, I think it is what we want in our life mostly.
But at least I don’t know the exact steps to reach “Well-Being” even after I spent 40 years of my life.
So I started self-studying about factors related to Well-Being and mechanism to reach it.

There are 2 factor groups which lead to well-being.

Positional Goods

  • Property and possessions
  • Easily quantified and compared to others
  • Sense of well-being does NOT last long

Seeking only “Positional Goods” is called “Focusing Illusion”.
It is like drinking “Salt-Water” which makes people more thirsty contrary to purpose.
e.g. Annual income, Position, Educational background, House, Car and Reputation etc.

 

Non-Positional Goods

  • Status of mind
  • Not Easily quantified and compared to others
  • Sense of well-being lasts long

e.g. Peace of mind, Confidence, Freedom, Love and health etc
It is like “Clear Stream” that makes people comfortable and peaceful.

Positional Goods is important for living a life but Non-Positional Goods directly contribute to “Well-Being” which last long.


There are 4 factors of Non-Positional Goods related to Well-Being mostly.

  1. Be Optimistic (Nantokanaru Inshi)
  2. Be Myself (Anatarashiku Inshi)
  3. Be Ambitious (Yattemiyou Inshi)
  4. Be Thankful (Arigatou Inshi)

 

In this site, I would like to publish my own thought about how to reach these 4 states and plus one: body condition.
