So my next recommendation is "The Flames of Rome" by Paul Maier. Years of betrayal formed a cynicism and hatred of men to protect her from hurt. Angel's beauty is legendary, but so is her granite heart. I would normally suggest "Redeeming Love," as that is one of my absolute favorites, but I stalked your Goodreads and, as suspected, you've already read it.
